We enable companies with complex products, services and processes to simplify their B2C and B2B business.

The project dear to our hearts, with which the epilot story began, is the energy transition. We believe that on the way to more climate protection, a digital foundation is needed that simplifies the sale and technical implementation of renewable and energy-efficient solutions for customers and companies. This is the only way to make the energy transition scalable.

The need to reduce complexity exists in other industries as well. Thanks to the high flexibility of our software-as-a-service, epilot therefore supports all companies that want to simplify processes and make products and services a digital experience for their customers.

Our commitment

Under the title “we take climate action,” the organization “Leaders For Climate Action” has drawn up a catalog of measures that companies can use to reduce their carbon footprint.

As a tech company, we already meet many requirements – which is why we received our Climate Action badge. Important for us: Digital services run on green energy, as cloud servers achieve 5-6x higher energy efficiency than traditional on-premise services.

We take care at the corporate and individual level to minimize our carbon footprint through various measures in our daily business.

2017

epilot wird in Köln von...

CEO Michel, CTO Szilard, CFO Rolf und CSO Hannes gegründet. Und zunächst im kleinen Team von Küchentisch aus gemanaged.

2018

Unsere Software...

geht nur sechs Monate nach der Gründung live. In kürzester Zeit überzeugen wir 30 Unternehmen, ihre Energielösungen über epilot zu verkaufen.

2019

Das Lösungsangebot...

für Netzbetreiber wird ausgeweitet und die epilot Community wächst kontinuerlich. Mit wachsendem Erfolg verstärkt sich auch unser Team auf 30 Leute. Von Wien aus werden werden Kunden in Österreich und der Schweiz betreut.

2020

Unser Team

erlebt das bis dato größte Wachstum: Wir finden mit 60 epilot:innen unser neues Zuhause im Kölner Mediapark. epilot wird nicht nur größer, sondern auch immer internationaler – durch remote Work kein Problem.

2021

Unsere Software...

wird noch flexibler, um auch individuelle Wünsche optimal erfüllen zu können. Wir werden von Business Punk zum Top Startup-Arbeitgeber gewählt.

2022

Mit mehr als 100...

Enterprise-Kunden ist bewiesen: Der Markt braucht und liebt unsere Software. 80 epiloten arbeiten kontinuierlich an der Optimierung unserer Software und bereiten sich auf die nächsten Expansionsschritte vor – stay tuned!

Developed the e-mobility business with VW at LichtBlick. At Trianel, he was responsible for the sales platform for energy services T-PED and successfully sold it to Vattenfall.

Founder & CTO

International experience in product management at Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Trello), software development and finance - successfully shipping to millions of users.

Hannes

Founder & CSO

Managed the grid department of Stadtwerke Velbert and, with the liberalization of the energy market, founded the first private energy supplier and service provider, EVB Energie AG

Rolf Benken

Founder & CFO

Finance and energy market expert. Successful founder with experience from 17 start-ups.

Managed the operations department for energy service products at Mainova. Extensive experience in project management from Lufthansa, Johnson Controls & the Volkswagen Group.

eCommerce expert. Founded the online store paigh and gained experience in the field of e-mobility as team leader at the launch of Car2Go.

Marketing Team Lead & Business Development

Gained experience in corporate strategy, marketing, consulting and venture capital, e.g. in the energy industry at innogy and in eCommerce at REWE Digital.

Nathalie

HR Manager

Brings extensive experience in HR management, HR consulting and recruiting, and was responsible for staff development at Capita Europe, among others. At epilot, she looks after the well-being of employees, among other things.

Built the MyHammer and Grünspar business in Austria and founded derDigitalversorger.
