Velbert will be using e-pilot in the future

More and more municipal utilities are convinced by the cloud of e-pilot GmbH and rely on the innovative solution of the Cologne-based start-up when offering new product worlds. Recently, Stadtwerke Velbert and its subsidiary ENEDI also convinced themselves of the advantages of the multi-product platform. This means that since the official launch of the e-pilot Cloud in February of this year, ten suppliers are already represented with their products on the platform.

The Velbert-based company has great confidence in the future viability of the innovative cloud solution: “We take a very realistic view of market developments: we know that as a modern utility company we have to position ourselves broadly in the direction of services,” explains Bert Gruber, Authorized Signatory – Chief Sales Officer, Marketing, Communications at Stadtwerke Velbert. “That was also the reason why we founded our subsidiary ENEDI as an energy service provider in 2016. Taking the step towards digitalization and towards a future-proof cloud solution to the end was only a logical consequence there.” In concrete terms, this means that in the next few months the photovoltaic, battery storage and heating products will be marketed via e-pilot and offered to customers in the form of modern and powerful bundles.

The subsidiary ENEDI also uses the e-pilot cloud as an energy service provider for private and business customers. This is because, on the one hand, it acts for Stadtwerke Velbert as an extended sales arm for innovative, energy-saving digital products and services. On the other hand, ENEDI also acts as a full-service partner for energy services for other energy supply companies (EVU) from the region.

What the e-pilot Cloud can do
What is special about the e-pilot concept is that the software solution makes it possible to fully digitalize the marketing, control and settlement of the energy service – and thus radically reduces the settlement time. What can take up to 18 months today will be a matter of a few minutes in the future – limiting time and cost risks for RUs to a minimum. The start-up targets its offering at all utilities, from small municipal utilities to large players, that want to sell existing and new energy services or products digitally. With just a few clicks, utilities can generate immediately marketable product worlds with real added value for their customers – even with unusual links: For example, product offers from partners such as the music streaming service Spotify or providers from the film and series streaming sector can be combined with their own electricity tariffs in seconds and marketed as bundles within the web offer of the respective utility. In addition, the cooperation between the energy supply companies and their partners from the regional trade takes place entirely on the e-pilot platform: This is because the company offers a large network of partners within the cloud world, which is constantly being expanded by the community.
