Virtual epilot world with speakers from enercity, powercloud, DEW21 & Co.

Cologne, Jan. 12, 2021. E-world in Essen will not be able to open its doors in February 2021 as planned and has been postponed until May. epilot, one of the leading SaaS cloud providers for the energy industry, therefore invites you to the virtual epilot world from February 9 to 11, 2021. Speakers include enercity, DEW21, powercloud, SAP Germany, PwC Germany, Stadtwerke Karlsruhe and Wiener Netze.

“When it became clear that E-world would be postponed, we reacted on the very evening of the announcement and planned our own concept. What makes E-world special is the exciting industry news that you learn there and the networking. We are convinced that this can also be done digitally,” says epilot CEO and founder Michel Nicolai. “We believe that the Corona crisis will also have a long-term impact on the event industry and that there will be a shift towards more digital events. With epilot world, we already want to actively shape the future of the event industry,” he promises.

epilot world is aimed at energy suppliers, network operators, consultants, software providers and partners of utilities, e.g. sales partners or installers. Over three days, conference attendees can expect a diverse digital program with top-notch speakers.

Among the highlights of the program is a panel discussion on the billing world of the future with SAP Germany, powercloud, enercity subsidiary LYNQTECH and BCG Platinion: With the maintenance end of SAP IS-U in 2027, the question of what comes next is driving many utilities. Guido Koth, Director Platform & Technology – Customer Advisory Public & Utilities provides insight into how SAP Germany is reinventing itself. Marco Beicht, founder and CEO of powercloud, attracted attention in recent years as an “energy revolutionary” with high growth of the SaaS solution. In 2020, enercity brought a new player into the game: With LYNQTECH, CEO Mandy Schwerendt offers a smartstore for EVUs that promises measurable efficiency gains with an end-to-end approach. Michael Ruckel, Associate Director at BCG Platinion, contributes his assessments of market developments from a neutral perspective.

Another highlight is an interview with enercity: CEO Dr. Susanna Zapreva talks about enercity’s transformation from an energy supplier to a platform company. DEW21’s strategic alignment is also scrutinized in the interview on the sales and IT strategy from a single source: Chief Sales Officer Dominik Gertenbach and CIO Jens Grötecke talk about how they concretely implement a seamless meshing of sales and IT strategy.

In the interview with Iman El Sonbaty, Director Sales B2C, Marketing & Operations of Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Ralf Thiemann, Managing Director of PRO energy consult, the focus is on “Commodity + X”. “The customer must finally – also in the energy sector – be put where he belongs, namely at the center. I’m committed to making that happen and am using all the possibilities of data analysis and digitization to do so. This is an exciting and important development journey for my team, and for me too!” says Iman El Sonbaty.

A look at other industries is not missing: At Reishunger, everything revolves around the tasty cereal grain. The eCommerce company has managed to differentiate a standard product – a challenge many utilities struggle with in the commodity business. Founder & CEO Torben Buttjer gives an insight into success factors in eCommerce.

The other speakers so far are: Roman A. Tobler, Head of Technical IT at Wiener Netze, Philipp Schmidt, Partner at PwC Germany in the area of Digital Utilities, Nils Methling, Business Development Manager at SWS Energie GmbH, Andre Freude, Head of Network Sales & Contract Management at SWTE Netz, Toralf Kappe, Key Account Manager at SVO Vertrieb GmbH, Guido Naumann, IT Business Analyst at Celle-Uelzen Netz GmbH, Frank Wede, Partner Manager at Stadtwerke Neumünster, Jonathan Klotz, Senior Architect at INTENSE AG, and Kevin Kahleys and Marvin Eberhard, Senior Consultant and Consultant at Excubate.

In addition, there will be numerous opportunities for one-on-one or small group networking. Particularly important to the organizers: away from classic PowerPoint frontal lectures and towards more interviews and discussions. On Wednesday evening there will also be an unofficial program part with a virtual fair party.

The epilot world will take place from 09.02. to 11.02.2021 will take place virtually. For more information on the program, speakers and registration options, please visit: epilot world
